Celebrating Two Years of Flotek
Founded by Jay Ball, Dave Middleton and Malcolm Holland in 2022, Flotek has experienced rapid growth since its inception. Phillip Emanuel and Craig Jones later joined the company, starting their journey with a dedicated team of three directors. Their rapid expansion is a testament to their innovative approach to simplifying IT and communications for small to medium-sized businesses across the UK.
Achievements Over the Last Two Years
In just two years, Flotek has successfully completed 11 acquisitions, significantly boosting its turnover to £12 million. The company now boasts 86 employees and a robust customer base of over 2,000 clients.
Flotek has expanded its physical presence by opening seven regional offices, with a new head office in Bridgend set to open this year. Additionally, two acquisitions are set to be announced this summer, one imminently, which adds to their impressive portfolio.
The company has established strong partnerships with major brands like CEMEX, Several NHS Trusts as well as numerous SMEs and collaborated with industry leaders such as Microsoft, Kaseya, & SonicWall. These alliances have been crucial in driving the company’s success.
2024 has been an exciting year for Flotek which has included becoming an authorised installer and partner of premier data & fibre cabling brand, CommScope along with becoming a Gold partner of SonicWall.
Flotek has successfully integrated 11 businesses into the Flotek Group within a short time, aligning the systems and processes of many of its deals to date. This further emphasises the company’s strategic growth along with the acquisition of OES in St Asaph in North Wales this year.
Purpose of FloFest
To celebrate the company and encourage team building, Flotek welcomed back the ‘FloFest’ event for the second consecutive year and will be held on 13th July. Designed to celebrate team achievements and foster a sense of community, the annual event sees key suppliers and sponsors join in to acknowledge their contributions.
This exciting event features various activities, including live bands, karaoke, Flo Olympics, bouncy castles, face painting and a BBQ. In honour of the team’s hard work and dedication, FloFest creates a fun and relaxing atmosphere that strengthens team bonds and provides a chance to appreciate the employees’ families.
Culture and Values
Flotek prides itself on its values, including transparency, unity, empowerment, and passion. A cultural initiative of the company is the upcoming launch of an EMI scheme, enabling its staff to own 10% of the business. The establishment of a Culture Club further promotes team spirit through various activities.
Flotek is proud of its involvement in previous charitable activities and its ongoing efforts to give back to the community through various initiatives. The company is deeply committed to charitable work and looks forward to many upcoming events, including a planned charity bike ride from North Wales to South Wales.
Vision for the Next Few Years
Looking ahead, Flotek aims to double its business size and revenue within the next two years. The company also plans to increase its employee headcount by 50% in time for next year’s FloFest, aligning with its growth targets.
Despite its rapid growth, Flotek remains committed to preserving its core values and company culture. The company is dedicated to continuing its focus on customer experience and is pleased to introduce new roles, such as the recent Customer Experience Manager position.
Reflecting on the company’s journey, Flotek CEO Jay Ball said: “We’ve grown from zero to £12 million in two years and from zero to 86 staff in the same period. If we can double that within the next two years, we’ll be very happy. As long as we maintain our culture and values, we are happy to continue growing.”
